Steps to reproduce

MyFiles > (my Structure) Websites > Client1
MyFiles > (my Structure) Websites > Client2
Etc.
I click Get Link while in Client1, share in a different browser I’m not logged into to see how it looks for a client, the client can click Websites to see all Clients then look at each client, the shared link should set the share to the folder its shared from as root

Expected result

What do you expect to see after carrying out the steps above?
When I share a link from Client1 e.g.
MyFiles > (my Structure) Websites > Client1, I expect that shared link not be able to go back any further than Client1, but it goes back to Websites when Im not logged in

Actual result

Instead of the expected result, what happened?
Sharing a link gives anyone I share it with access to see everything from MyFiles

Which browser are you using? Logged into Chrome, tested shared link on Firefox & Opera
If you’re using a desktop or mobile app, what’s the version number of Dynalist? not tested on mobile
Are you using any third-party scripts for Dynalist, e.g. PowerPack? No, just Dynalist paid

Are you sure you aren’t clicking Share on the MyFiles folder?

Are you sure the folder isn’t publicly shared?

If you click Share only on document Client1 then the resulting link will not allow someone to explore elsewhere.

I couldn’t reproduce what you described.

I suspect the confusion here is that you want to share a node (bullet point item). Dynalist does not support that. You can only share an entire document, or folder of documents. Nothing more narrow than that.

You’re not the first person to complain about it. It’s one nice feature which Workflowy has that Dynalist does not.

Sharing individual "Nodes" on the list like in Workflowy

Hey guys, In workflowy you can share individual nodes from a larger list, as I understand in Dynalist you have to create a page first, this is really cumbersome when you work with multiple lists where some are shared and some are private (with items being prepped for sharing) and need to move items between the lists. Allow sharing a single topic / bullet instead of an entire document

I think that sharing a topic / bullet instead of entire document is of great value (like Workflowy does). For instance, I like to keep a list of all my projects; for some I share root topic (meaning I’ve delegated it entirely), but in many cases I’d like to share just a piece of its scope (which corresponds to a bullet)

What are Dynalist's sharing philosophy and best practices?

I’m trying to understand why sharing is organized by documents on Dynalist, rather than by bullet point, as in Workflowy. I gather that the only thing I can share on Dynalist is an entire document. So suppose I have all my notes across various projects in a single document. I want to share notes from a single meeting. In Workflowy, this is trivial: just share that meeting. I see “Get Link” in the screenshot. What that does is make a link which automatically zooms to a particular node. It doesn’t affect sharing, which is done by right clicking the document (or folder) in the left sidebar.
