[Desktop/Web] When breaking up highlighted/colored text, the bottom part retains the color

Steps to reproduce

Starting from scratch, what are the steps to make the bug happen? The fewer the steps, the better.

  1. Write some text
  2. Apply some color to it via the menu.
  3. Break it up from the middle.

Expected result

What do you expect to see after carrying out the steps above?

I guess both parts would still have the same color.

Actual result

Instead of the expected result, what happened?

Only the bottom part that was broken off retained the color.

Environment

Which operating system are you using? Which browser are you using? If youā€™re using a desktop or mobile app, whatā€™s the version number of Dynalist?

Chrome / Win 10

Confirmed.

For me the bug part of this is that the bottom part gets the color. For me the expected behavior is that the top part (which I explicitly choose to color) retains the color, and that the bottom part (which I didnā€™t explicitly choose to color) has no color applied

This logic was implemented over a year ago and I honestly donā€™t remember our reasoning.

But itā€™s the same behavior for checkbox/numbered list/heading etc and nobody seems to have brought it up yet.
