Environment

Which operating system are you using? macos
Which browser are you using? chrome
If you’re using a desktop or mobile app, what’s the version number of Dynalist? no
Are you using any third-party scripts for Dynalist, e.g. PowerPack? no

See this previously filed bug report: Numbered List: Numbering RESET when "Toggle checked items"

I think an option for static vs dynamic numbering would make sense, but I can also see the use case being different for each numbered list… so it’s indeed pretty tricky to make everyone happy about this.

Ah ok. My imagination wasn’t good enough to envision that someone would actually like it this way. It doesn’t bother me either way so I will tag this thread answered.

That’s funny :joy:

This is actually the biggest problem I encounter with Dynalist. I use Dynalist for Shakespeare plays, which I share with my students. I have numbered each line, but if we search for a particular quotation, the line numbers change. Pretty big problem, when trying to write references!
