So now I need to select any items that I donāt want to have checkboxes and select āMake Checklistā on them. Then selecting āMake Checklistā on the parent item will add checkboxes to any of the items that I didnāt select.
If I want to later add or remove a checkbox from one of those items, I have to select āUnmake Checklistā on the parent to remove all checkboxes, select āMake Checklistā on the item, and then select āMake Checklistā again on the parent. Hopefully that makes sense. Itās really confusing!
I agree thatās a valid concern. I think that is more related to the other ticket though:
I have checklists within which I just want to have my bullet points. I would like to be able to toggle checklists at will, no matter what has been set at the parent.
That is: when I hit CTRL ALT C, a checklist item should come or go.

In any case, I donāt think that adding checkboxes individually is the solution. Based on the nature of outliners, all items in a āchecklistā are checkable items. You might want to āescapeā a few items, but thatās the exception, not the norm.
