If there are still invites for the beta Iâd love to be involved. I already use the web version on my phone extensively.
noticed just now that when i resize the window to be ânarrowerâ
it has a cleaner UI
i support this
im comparing this briefly to other software and this is a good thing
assuming this is for the mobile versions
wanted to say itâs super important to keep consistency across all versions
everything should be standardised
for example this version can change font,
but the web version cannot, or i dunno how to
everything should be standardised, with the exception of os-specific function that can only be done on that os
hate it when things on different os platforms work different
im keeping it ânarrowerâ because itâs 1000x better
- like why was âsyncedâ there, was it really needed? nope
- what about that âstarâ? i mean how often was it Really used? maybe like <1% of users use it
- and how about that âmenuâ - god, it made it so needlessly cluttered, and almost all of those functions were just duplicates that could be done better elsewhere
- oh, the âmenuâ is still there, just not on the first-level, well maybe itâll be useful for the background color to section
- the âalways at topâ bar is longer (vertically) than before â takes up too much screen space
Itâs the same setting in Settings - Preferences - Font.
Itâs useful to know if your changes have been synced or not, just like in Google Docs thereâs a âSavedâ state indicator.
I havenât done any survey but 1% is probably an underestimation. I personally find it useful and I often have my bookmark pane open instead of the file pane.
What menu? If you mean the item menu that appears when you hover an item, I donât know of any other way to accomplish them except for shortcuts, which is not very discoverable. We have to make Dynalist usable to people who donât use shortcuts too.
If you know good ways to do it better elsewhere, please give suggestions so that we can evaluate the solution rather than accepting your conclusion.
Sorry but I canât agree. Mobile is very different from desktop, and standardizing them too much will only hurt user experience. On mobile thereâs no hover state or keyboard shortcuts, and the screen is tiny so less frequently used things are hidden.
Take a look at any productivity tool to compare their web/desktop version and the mobile version and youâll find them dramatically different. Working under very different constraints and needs produces very different solutions, so I think itâs normal and we should put user experience before trying to standardizing everything. Consistently is definitely good, given (1) UX is good and (2) âconsistencyâ doesnât only mean looking exactly the same but also designed with the same principles and philosophy so that it feels familiar.
Hi Erica,
Iâd like to have an invite. happy to provide feedback. hope it makes me switch from Workflowy
Hi,
I have tried to use the Dynalist Android app. However, I have big lists, and the android app is super slow. Sometimes it takes 1s after every keystroke, so typing is pretty much impossible.
Are other people experiencing the same thing? Are you benchmarking on rather big lists? Are improvements planned, or is Dynalist simply not suited for large lists?
Cheers,
Lucas
We need a few things to reproduce this: exactly how large your lists are, and whatâs your phone like. For the former, you can send us the exported document if you donât mind. For the latter, just tell us what kind of CPU your phone has (or what model is your phone).
Thanks!
Hi,
can I have an invite for the beta app? Iâm using dynalist mostly on mobile(web).
My phone is a Nexus 5x so its not brand new but it should be fine.
I am not confortable with sharing the list; however, I will see if I can reproduce this on a dummy list.
In case you should still looking for testers, I would be glad to be one of them. Thank you.
Please add me to the list of beta testers, I would love to provide feedback! Thanks
Eager to be a beta tester here! This feature is the only reason thatâs holding me to Workflowy right now (offline mobile editing is a must for me)
Iâm late to the party but would be very happy to join the android beta if possible - was a workflowy power user so may be able to offer some useful feedback. I couldnât be more crossing my fingers for quick add an item from notification like todoist
A public beta is now available! Get it here: Download - Dynalist
This applies to mobile web version too, but realized it while using the Android app beta. Would it be possible to keep the keyboard from popping up when clicking a tag while in view only mode? Thanks!
