Create New Document with only keyboard from "Open File Finder" (Ctrl+o)

Often I want to create a new document concerning a particular topic. While right clicking the sidebar and choosing “New document” is not really much of a chore, I find it distracting to have to use the mouse.

Would it be possible to have the “Open File Finder” create a new document ( and switch to it) if I search for a string that does not exist? Maybe with shift-enter or such in order to avoid creating it by accident.

Of course this would also fit perfectly in the “Go Anywhere” feature that is hopefully coming soon.

Any ideas on that? Maybe I am the only one looking for a keyboard only way or maybe I have missed something in the interface?

Interesting idea and it’s indeed a fast and intuitive way to add a new document.

I vote for this. We need a way to create a new file using only the keyboard.
