Shortcuts are great, but if the search bar works as a command bar as well, it’ll be awesome.
Here is vscode, and you select something, and press f1 then type what you want to happen to the selection.

Ah, interesting idea. Sublime Text has something quite similar.
Very friendly for programmers, I would assume 
@Erica It’s actually friendly for any application that has a extended set of features. Beside dev tools Vivaldi browser has similar functionality (only you need to press F2) and it is widely used as far as I know.
