Chrome Shortcut Icon Problem - A.K.A. Manifest Issue

  1. In ChromeOS navigate to dynalist.io
  2. Click the settings 3 dots -> More Tools -> Create Shortcut

You will notice that the icon does NOT appear.

If you open developer tools and remove the header link rel=manifest and then repeat the above steps you get the icon. I think this has to do with a malformed manifest.json which only shows icons while chrome is expecting more from the manifest.
