A minor improvement:
Ctrl+F
Enter some text to search for
Ctrl+Enter
Esc
Ctrl+F
Search text field shows text entered before.
Suggestion: text automatically pre selected, so I don’t have to delete it before typing another search string.

I always start typing a new search word to find I’m adding to the word that was already there, then I have to clear and start over.
