A nice experience from WorkFlowy is that when the search field is focused, the user can return the cursor to the document by pressing Down. Such a small feature is essential for Dynalist in my opinion, as after I type in the search field I am compelled to reach for the mouse/trackpad in order to select an item.
Curious if anyone has a proper solution to this at the moment?
Right now I do:
- search
- hit tab to deselect search
- select all (cmd + a)
- down or up arrow
That allows me to navigate from the search all via the keyboard.
I would love something like notion.so way of searching (fuzzy find on all entries and drops you right at the selection).
Yeah, vote from me on this. Esc or down works
I think you just have to press tab?
Ctrl+F
blah
Tab
Down arrow
Down arrow
Down arrow
Esc
It searches blah and then moves the cursor down the items and then exits search.
Yeah, I think the point is that this several times too many unnecessary keystrokes, also unintuitive if you don’t know.
To be clear it’s just tab vs down arrow
Ctrl+F
blah
Tab
Down arrow
Down arrow
Down arrow
Esc
vs.
Ctrl+F
blah
Down arrow
Down arrow
Down arrow
Down arrow
Esc
going between fields in browsers has always been tab, i wouldnt have known down arrow acts as tab in workflowy if i didnt read it here
