Inconsistent shortcuts for OS X on Chrome

Steps to reproduce

Starting from scratch, what are the steps to make the bug happen? The fewer the steps, the better.

  • Go to any note and select it
  • Press: CMD + ALT + N

Expected result

What do you expect to see after carrying out the steps above?

  • Any notes below will now be in a numbered list

Actual result

Instead of the expected result, what happened?

  • Nothing, I need to use Ctrl instead to get a numbered list even though the short cut says to use Cmd

Environment

Which operating system are you using? Which browser are you using? If you’re using a desktop or mobile app, what’s the version number of Dynalist?

  • OSX 10.11.6
  • Chrome 56

Additional information

Anything else you think would help our investigation, like a screenshot or a log file? You can drag and drop screenshots to this box. For large amount of text, try putting them into something like Pastebin.

Additional comments

I would prefer to use OSX specific commands. Trying to force the command to use Cmd instead of Ctrl causes it to tell me that “that combination has already been used by ‘Make a numbered list’*”

That’s because Dynalist doesn’t distinguish between Cmd and Ctrl right now (something that we’re looking to fix).

It’s weird that Cmd+Alt+N doesn’t make numbered list though. Does it do anything else, like some build-in system action?

That may be it. I’ll look in to that. If it listens to them the same then that maybe it.

It could also be the other apps on your computer. Some apps listen for global shortcuts to perform certain actions.
