Links to entries containing backticks don't render properly

Steps to reproduce

1. Create an entry containing a word wrapped in backticks. For example, I created this entry:

add `alt` tags to all images

2. Copy the item’s link.
3. Paste the copied link into another item, so that the second item becomes a link to the first.

Expected result

I expect the link to show either zero or two backticks, but not one backtick.

Actual result

The link renders like this:

add `alt tags to all images
