This was a small outline. The date picker is completely unusable for anything outside of the current date range. Nor can you see what you might be typing.

Can anyone reproduce this? Is the month header always visible on the date picker or does it disappear like shown in the photo?
(On a tablet. The picker fills up the whole screen on an Android phone and therefore has no place to go)

I was able to repro this issue by simulating the size of an iPad. We have tracked this bug on our todo list, and will fix it as soon as we can! Thanks again for letting us know.
